The major goal of Solomon Schechter Academy's  faculty is to instill a positive sense of ego and self-esteem in each student.  A student who believes in himself/herself will be successful in his/her endeavors.  Each staff member will try to develop a program of studies that will enable each student to experience success.  This repeated pattern of success will assure the attainment of the goal and will help create a positive attitude toward school, study and learning.

Solomon Schechter Academy attempts to inculcate in each student an understanding and appreciation of freedom and democracy as the basis of our society so that he/she will be able to participate in, as well as contribute to American society.

Solomon Schechter Academy is an academically-oriented institution.  We believe that a firm foundation in the basic skills is essential to the development of each student and to the accomplishment of the major goals of the school.  Homework is assigned on a daily basis in order to develop a sense of responsibility while reinforcing the skills and concepts previously taught in class.   Homework will vary according to the individual student's needs.  Under no circumstances will it be used for disciplinary purposes.  Homework will not be assigned when the only available time to complete it is over a Jewish holiday (Yom Tov) or Shabbat.
